B&B Fabrics and Christmas have been inextricably linked for decades. ‘In the olden days', we used to refer to ourselves as specialists when it came to Christmas fabric, with thousands of feet of it, figuratively speaking, flying over the counter. We, too, were amazed by the success of all the mini Santas, Christmas trees, Christmas animal decorations and all the matching red-white-and-green patterns, stripes and checks. Because... well, in the Netherlands, there are only two days of Christmas a year. So why this demand?
CHRISTMAS TRENDS 2022
In the meantime, we now do much more than Christmas fabric, but the love for Christmas still remains. We aim to put together a nice Christmas theme, every year, with the familiar colours and cosiness. Anyone who is in anyway familiar with the world of Christmas will know that there are genuine Christmas trends every year. Influenced by social issues or a popular Netflix series, these trends emerge, making trendy Christmas trees look different every year. This year, these trends revolve around travel - after all, we're allowed to do it again - and good old-fashioned togetherness, which is why the romantic Christmas tree is totally the rage.
TRADITIONAL CHRISTMAS
Our design team has opted to go for a traditional feel despite these revolutions in Christmas land. This is what ends up making our clients and final consumers happy, year after year. Which is why our new Christmas collection is familiarly cosy with typical Christmas colours. These patterns never go 'out of fashion' and as far as we're concerned, they give the ultimate Christmas spirit.
Of course, we did want innovation, which is why we have come up with a series of patterns in mini format. They are simple, but effectively stylish, and also ideal for smaller applications, such as wrapping presents. Many of these patterns have been designed in allover prints which also makes them perfect for a nice tablecloth.
We have even experimented with mini Santas; after all, no two Christmas dolls are the same. Now there's something for everyone! Incidentally, Tomtes - Scandinavian Christmas dolls - and the traditional American Santa also fit well.
NATURAL CHRISTMAS
Slightly less traditional, but always good and tasteful, are Christmas prints in more natural colours. Beige, white, greyish green and brown tones always add a warm ambience. The nice thing about this theme is that it is great to use before and after Christmas, since it actually goes with any interior. This makes it a gorgeous basic for all year round.
DIY WITH CHRISTMAS FABRICS
For the truly creative soul, we have this fantastic fabric with DIY Christmas dolls. Although this pattern has been in our collection for over a year now, it is still an essential part of this story. It's guaranteed fun over the Christmas holidays!
